Sidley Austin Partners Enter Appearance for Troca Global Managing Director Beej Das

I am honored and humbled to announce that 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗰𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗿 and 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗶𝗿𝗼𝘇𝘇𝗼𝗹𝗼 have officially entered an appearance on my behalf in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. They comprise my legal team, alongside Carter Phillips, Daniel Feith, and Keith Del Prete, all partners at global law firm Sidley Austin.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗶𝗿𝗼𝘇𝘇𝗼𝗹𝗼: Jack Pirozzolo is a seasoned litigator with a focus on high-stakes government-facing litigation. He clerked for Judge Sandra L. Lynch on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and Judge Edward R. Becker on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Jack’s career highlights include serving as the First Assistant U.S. Attorney in Massachusetts and leading significant cases involving healthcare, securities, and criminal law.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗰𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗿: Eric McArthur brings a wealth of experience in handling complex litigation before the U.S. Supreme Court and federal and state courts of appeals. He previously served as a law clerk for Justice Clarence Thomas on the United States Supreme Court and Judge J. Michael Luttig on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. With a distinguished career, including a tenure as Deputy Associate Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice, Eric has successfully represented clients in a broad spectrum of legal areas, including constitutional, administrative, and environmental law.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀: Carter Phillips is one of the most experienced Supreme Court and appellate lawyers in the country, having argued 81 cases before the Supreme Court—more than any other lawyer in private practice. He clerked for Chief Justice Warren E. Burger on the United States Supreme Court and Judge Robert Sprecher on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Carter’s career is marked by his exceptional advocacy in both the Supreme Court and federal appellate courts.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵: Daniel Feith specializes in regulatory and complex civil litigation, with extensive experience in matters involving constitutional, statutory, and administrative law. He clerked for Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. on the United States Supreme Court, Judge Thomas B. Griffith on the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and Judge Richard J. Sullivan on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Daniel's background includes serving as a deputy assistant attorney general at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he led efforts to enforce critical consumer protection statutes.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲: Special recognition goes to Keith Del Prete, a fellow Wolverine from the University of Michigan, who assembled this outstanding legal team. It was through the hospitality industry that I met Keith, a partner at Sidley Austin and co-leader of the firm’s Global Hospitality group. Keith has become a friend – and the strength of the team he has assembled is testament to that friendship and faith.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻: All five attorneys are partners at Sidley Austin, an elite global law firm with a 158-year legacy, offering comprehensive legal services across more than 70 countries. With 21 offices worldwide and a team of 2,300 lawyers fluent in over 80 languages, Sidley Austin provides culturally aware and globally informed legal strategies.

With my team’s combined experience and dedication, I am confident that we are well-prepared to navigate the complexities of the appellate process. Their commitment and expertise will be invaluable as we move forward in this critical phase of our legal journey.
