Beej is the Managing Director of Troca Global Advisors.
His hospitality, legal, technology and engineering experience give him a broad range of skills essential to advising our clients on complex, global business and legal issues. With a global base, transactional experience totaling more than $2 billion in value and professional roots planted firmly in his youth as an advanced technology provider for the United States Navy, Beej has the background necessary to guide clients through complex conditions in a wide variety of transactions.
Beej's professional and technology roots date back to the 1980's when he wrote software, designed and authored user documentation and provided technical support for clients of Das Consulting, Inc., including General Electric's engine division in Lynn, Massachusetts, outside of Boston. Beej also won a bid for a large contract for the United States Navy for advanced linguistic systems at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, becoming the youngest person in history to do so.
In the 1990's, Beej worked for Fidelity Investments and advised clients on retirement portfolio planning. He received his NASD (now Financial Industry Regulatory Authority - FINRA) Series 6 and 63 licenses and handled portfolio transactions for General Motors, Ford, Gillette and other large institutional clients of Fidelity and their participants.
After law school, Beej became federal law clerk to Hon. Judge Benson Everett Legg of the United States District Court for Maryland where he helped decide cases ranging from civil rights, affirmative action and discrimination, commercial disputes, maritime matters, consumer protection, intellectual property, to drugs and other criminal matters. As a lawyer, Beej has represented individuals entrepreneurs, companies, banks, developers, management companies, hotels, funds, and REITs in corporate and real estate, fund formation, investment and acquisition, technology, litigation, negotiation, government relations, licensing, dispute resolution, critical planning and strategic advisory representation and services. He is an alumnus of the law firms Choate Hall & Stewart, Latham & Watkins, Testa Hurwitz & Thibeault, and Goulston & Storrs.
Immediately prior to founding Troca Global, Beej was a senior member of the Hilton Worldwide development team where he was responsible for the development of its entire portfolio of brands in South Asia. Fluent in English and Bengali, in 2017, Beej took a year and a half long sabbatical to run for United States Congress from the Massachusetts Third District. Beej is on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Lodging Association.
